A Look Back at 2025 — A Landmark Year for the WCKUK Organisation
As 2025 draws to a close, it’s worth taking a moment to reflect on what has been an extraordinary year for the WCKUK Organisation, not just in numbers, but in people, progress, and shared commitment.
This year wasn’t about chasing milestones for the sake of it. It was about steady training, consistent standards, and hundreds of individuals showing up week after week to improve themselves through Wing Chun.
And yet, when we pause and look back, the scale of what’s been achieved together is genuinely something to be proud of.
Hundreds of Students Progressed Through Grading
One of the clearest markers of growth in 2025 was grading.
Across the organisation, hundreds of students stepped forward to grade, many for the first time, others continuing a journey that’s been years in the making. Each grading represented more than a syllabus requirement, it reflected discipline, patience, and commitment to doing things properly.
Seeing so many students progress, at all levels, is a strong sign that the system is working and that instructors across WCKUK are maintaining a consistent, high standard of teaching.
Over 25 New Technician Grades Awarded
This year also saw 25+ new Technician Grades (TG) awarded across the organisation, a significant milestone.
Technician Grade is not given lightly. It represents a deep technical understanding, strong fundamentals, and the ability to apply Wing Chun under pressure. Reaching this level requires years of focused training and guidance.
In addition to TGs, Practitioner Grades (PG) were also awarded, recognising those who have completed the full system and demonstrated maturity in both skill and mindset.
These achievements belong not only to the students, but to the instructors who supported and mentored them throughout their journey.
Five New WCKUK Locations Opened
In 2025, the organisation expanded with five new WCKUK locations opening their doors.
Each new school represents more than just a venue, it’s a new community, new students taking their first steps, and new instructors stepping up to carry the WCKUK standard forward.
Growth like this only works when quality is protected. Every new location was opened with that principle firmly in mind.
End-of-Year Seminar
This year’s end-of-year seminar saw one of the largest turnout in WCKUK history.
Students travelled from different regions to train together, share ideas, and reconnect with the wider organisation. The energy in the room reflected exactly what WCKUK stands for, focused training, mutual respect, and a shared love of Wing Chun.
Events like this remind us that WCKUK is not just a collection of clubs, but a connected organisation with a common direction.
A Year of Building Foundations Online
Behind the scenes, 2025 was also a year of laying foundations for the future.
Over 100 articles and resources were published across the organisation’s website, answering common questions, documenting training principles, and ensuring accurate, high-quality information about Wing Chun is available to those searching for it.
This work wasn’t about trends or shortcuts. It was about clarity, accessibility, and representing Wing Chun, and WCKUK properly online.
Looking Ahead to 2026: The WCKUK Network
While 2025 was a year of growth, 2026 will be about connection.
Next year will see the launch of the WCKUK Network, designed to strengthen links between instructors, clubs, and students, while supporting consistent standards, safeguarding, and shared development across the organisation.
More details will be shared in the coming months, but the goal is simple:
to ensure WCKUK continues to grow without losing what makes it work.
Thank You to the WCKUK Community
None of this happens without people.
To every student who trained, graded, or supported others.
To every instructor who gave their time, energy, and patience.
And to every family who trusted WCKUK as part of their journey.
Thank you for making 2025 a year to remember.
We’re looking forward to what comes next, together.
