The WCKUK Grading System: Your Path to Mastery.
At WCKUK, we don’t just teach techniques, we teach progression. Our grading system is designed to give every student, regardless of age or experience, a clear path forward in their training.
With 12 structured student grades split across three levels, you’ll gain the confidence, skill, and awareness to deal with real life situations.
HOW IT WORKS
The student levels are divided into 12 grades:
4 Basic Grades – Laying the foundations of stance, structure, movement and the first Wing Chun form Siu Nim Tau.
4 Intermediate Grades – Applying techniques to more dynamic and resistant scenarios, including weapons, multiple attackers, and the second Wing Chun Form, Chum Kiu.
4 Advanced Grades – Introducing real-world pressure testing, and specialised Chi Sau training, this makes your reactions extremely fast. Also this is where you’ll start learning the 3rd and final empty hand form, Biu Tze.
Each grade builds on the last, helping you grow not just physically, but mentally and emotionally making you stronger with every step!
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN THROUGH THE GRADES
✔ Awareness And Prevention
Learn how to spot danger before it happens. We teach you to read body language, understand space, and trust your instincts.
✔ Stand-Up Self Defence
Deal with common attacks like punches, kicks, elbows and knees. You’ll learn how to protect yourself calmly and effectively without relying on brute force.
✔ Dealing With Multiple Attackers
Understand footwork, awareness, and how to avoid being surrounded. Wing Chun teaches efficiency — and that includes staying out of danger.
✔ Defending Against Weapons
From sticks to improvised threats, you’ll learn positioning, control, and disarming concepts as your training progresses.
✔ Ground Survival
Although Wing Chun is primarily a stand-up art, we don’t ignore the ground. You’ll be introduced to what to do if you’re taken down and how to recover or escape.
